Daily life can feel better.
*Sigh* Yeah, life feels kinda heavy these days. There’s a LOT going on. But amidst it all, you have more creative control than you realize. We’ve been taught that certain things just are the way they are, that we * should * live a particular way (alarm, work, collapse, repeat; this type of house, these types of clothes). But really - who says???
Who says it has to be this way? Who says you can’t play differently?
It’s time to get a little bit curious about this whole “adulting” thing. It’s time to start asking some questions.
Join me and an intimate group of 9 other people for the inaugural playshop on Thursday, August 27th, 2026 to explore different perspectives on how life can look and feel.
Working through the perspectives of PLAY, we’ll explore what play means in adulthood and how those perspectives can help break through barriers you didn’t even know were there.
And because the mind can only go so far, we’ll spend a majority of the time actually playing. Through various stations guaranteed to bring a smile to your face, you’ll PLAY your way into deeper breathing and deeper understanding of how fun life can feel.
Our time together is designed to be experiential not just educational.
We are coming together to explore QUESTIONS, not answers.
We are coming together to play.
WHO WILL BE THERE
You, me, and 9 other people. That’s it. This is intentionally being kept as a small group of 10 attendees.
First to jump in will get to experience it at the beautiful, private studio environment.
WHAT WE’LL DO
INTROS
(mixing and mingling, getting to know one another. Totally informal with lots of stress on zero performance and lots of encouragement to be fully you, however you are showing up that day.)
EXPLORING
(learning a bit about what play actually is when it comes to adulthood, why it’s so harmful that we’ve stopped playing, and what we can do to incorporate (not just add) play & playful perspectives into daily life)
EXPERIENCING
(time to explore the play stations! Visit one of multiple stations set up designed to be silly, insightful, and/or to get your body moving.)
REFLECTING & REMEMBERING
(we’ll join back together because community is crucial! Through a bit of reflecting and a few tools for remembering, we’ll make sure you have things to take with you to last long beyond our time together.)
WHAT IT COSTS
Because this is the inaugural play shop, you get to be the first to test it out. I’m intentionally keeping the cost low in exchange for your bravery in being FIRST to PLAY.
And I’ve limited it to 10 people in order to keep the experience intimate and to make sure you have time to share, to be heard, to be seen, and most importantly…time to play.
- $35 -
(plus Eventbrite fees.)
For the ticket price, you’ll get two hours of education, unique play opportunities, and community … as well as some drinks and munchies (because every gathering needs drinks and munchies).
Oooh, I’m interested!
Fabulous! No pressure, but with limited spaces, I suggest you sign up now instead of waiting.

Hmm. Sounds interesting, but …
I’m not trying to sell you anything. I want to connect with you and help you discover perspectives and experiences that move you towards the life you want to be living.
So please, email me (Lisa@goplayfulli.com) and let me know what’s on your mind. There’s no pressure, no selling. I’m just passionate about connecting with people around curiosity, creativity, self-expression, and play!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is leading this?
Hi. I’m Lisa. Container of multitudes. Happily-48-year old queer woman with a husband, two grown kids, and a fluffy dog. I’ve a background in psychology, yoga (practice and teaching), meditation (practice and teaching), various 2D art forms (again…practice and teaching), and PLAY (wait for it … PRACTICE AND TEACHING). I have a business (Playfulli) that combines photography with play advocacy for adults.
Where will this be held?
The event will be held in downtown Bloomington, IN. For privacy purposes, the address will be sent once you've purchased your ticket.
Is there an age limit?
Because this is an event exploring play in ADULTHOOD, this event is 18+. (Those kiddos are already pretty good at playing. Now it's our turn.)
What should I bring?
Just yourself and an open mind! Feel free to bring a drink or snacks, though some will also be provided.
What are the “play stations”?
Places for perspectives and play! Each station will be designed differently to be uniquely appealing. Some will be movement-based, some will challenge you to think differently, some will be solo adventures, and some, partnered activities. ALL are optional. It’s your opportunity to try some things you wouldn’t normally do, in a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging environment.
Are there any restrictions?
In general, nope! This is held in an older building, however, so unfortunately attendees need to be able to climb stairs to get to the location.
What about inclusivity?
I am VERY pro LGBTQ+. This event is welcome to all races, genders, sexualities, religions, ... As long as YOU are inclusive of others, we are inclusive of you. (i.e. no hate allowed) We ALL deserve access to play.
I tend to get thirsty/hungry easily. Will there be food?
Ah, you speak my language. Some drinks and snacks will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own as well!
I have a question but don't see the answer here.
No problem! Just message me at Lisa (with the at thing) goplayfulli.com
